On May 11th, the first PKU Public Governance Lecture was held at Liao Kaiyuan building. Former Peking University Council Chair and council chairman of the institute Ren Yanshen had an in-depth exchange with teachers and students on the theme of "the centennial celebration of Peking University and the 985 project".

The "985 Project" was officially launched in 1998 and has grown to 39 universities so far. Peking University also actively responded to the call to build a world-class university, actively raise funds, strengthen the introduction of talents, vigorously develop academic research, and has made rapid progress.
Ren points out that the centennial celebration is a great event in the history of Peking University and an important opportunity in the development. It not only enhances the international academic image of Peking University, but also draws great attention to Peking University and higher education. from people from all circles, including the alumni of Peking University. The launch of the "985 Project", which has a deep connection with the centenary anniversary, provided impetus and resources for the development of PKU, and played an important role in the future development of PKU.
